94 Points Sam Kim

Pa Road Rosé 2021

With its beautiful pink rose petal colour, this Rosé is a sophisticated, crisp and easy drinking wine. Initial aromatics of candy floss, strawberries and florals, are supported by some subtle base notes of spice and musk. On the palate this wine displays bright primary fruit, refreshing acidity and a medium body.

The fruit for this Rosé was sourced from complementary vineyards sites located in Marlborough’s Central and Southern Wairau Valleys. The Pinot Noir vineyards were selected for their vibrant fruit expression and soft, silky tannin profiles. The Pinot Gris and Riesling was included to add aromatic and floral freshness and intensity. The Pinot Noir vineyards were picked over a number of days during a week-long period starting 14th March and finishing on the 21st March.

The Pinot Noir fruit was crushed and then soaked in the press for 2 hours to extract some colour and flavour from the skins. The juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve the fresh aromatics and retain pure fruit expression. The whites were fermented separately and added to the blend to tighten the acidity and increase the aromatics.
